Factory Reset Procedure for Displays

Model Numbers: The Weather Direct® model number is a 6 digit entry stamped on the back of your display that starts with WD- (for non-audio) or WA- (for audios).

WD-#### Non-Audio Models (except WD-9535U)

  1. Perform a Factory Reset by pressing and holding down the SET and ALM buttons together for 6-10 seconds. The Display will beep twice and read PUSH GATEWAY BUTTON.

  2. Remove the batteries for 10 minutes. Press any button on the display 20 times to clear residual power.

  3. Install plain alkaline batteries into the display that are dated at least 6 years in advance or testing to 1.48 on a voltmeter. Follow the registration sequence on the website.

  4. Press the gateway button when requested (you may do this more than once if the progress bar remains on the web site, allow 20 seconds between tries).

  5. Once the forecast icons show on your display, you may proceed to the TX50 outdoor sensor setup page.

WD-9535U Non-Audio

  1. Perform a Factory Reset by Holding both the SET and DISPLAY buttons down together for about 6 seconds; you will hear a double beep.

  2. Remove the batteries for 10 minutes. Press any button on the display 20 times to clear residual power.

  3. Follow registration sequence on the website: Install batteries in the display and press the Gateway button when requested.

  4. Once the forecast icons show on your display, you may proceed to the TX50 outdoor sensor setup page.

WA-#### Audio Units

  1. Perform a Factory Reset by pressing and holding the SET button to enter the Program Menu.

  2. When you see Contrast settings, press and release the SET button until you see RESET NO.

  3. Press and release the PLUS button until you see RESET RUN.

  4. Press Set once more. In about 10 seconds the entire screen will populate, then ask you to press the SNOOZE and GATEWAY button.

  5. Remove batteries for 10 minutes. Press any button on the display 20 times to clear residual power.

  6. Follow registration sequence on the website: Install batteries in the display and press the SNOOZE and Gateway button when requested (you may repeat this sequence more than once if the progress bar remains on the web site).

    NOTE: Please allow 15 minutes before pressing buttons on the audio forecaster. Once the forecast icons show on your display, you may proceed to the TX50 outdoor sensor setup page.

A Lost Forecast (icons missing from the display) situation can occur when communication is interrupted for any reason (e.g. internet or power go out, batteries fade, components unplugged, etc.) Review our Lost Forecast guide for instructions.
