Gateway Registration
Factory Reset:
If after multiple attempts you cannot get the Gateway to register successfully, you can perform a Factory Reset by unplugging the AC adapter for 10 seconds. Push and hold the button on the Gateway while plugging in the AC adapter. Keep the button held in until the Red LED lights up for the second time. The Gateway will enter the setup sequence. The Red LED will blink in groups of four blinks when the Gateway is ready to register.
What do the blinking LEDs mean?
The green LED on the Gateway lights up during the startup sequence and blinks when registering a device after pressing the button on the Gateway.
The red LED on the Gateway will blink in groups of one, two, three or four blinks to indicate the setup progress. When the Gateway is registered successfully, the Red LED is lit solid.
What do the blinks of the red LED mean?
One Blink – the Gateway is not connected to your home network, or the network cable is damaged. Please check the connection to the network cable on both the Gateway and the Network Router.
Two Blinks – the Gateway is connected to your network, but cannot acquire an IP address. Please check your Network Router’s settings to make sure that DHCP is enabled and that free IP addresses are available. If you would like to assign a static IP address to your Gateway, please Download the FREE ERF-View utility here.
Three Blinks – not common - the Gateway has an IP address, but cannot resolve the Domain name. If your Gateway is stuck on three blinks of the red LED, please contact Technical Support at the number or email above.
Four Blinks – the gateway has successfully contacted the Weather Direct™ servers, and is ready for registration.
Display Registration
Factory Reset:
If you cannot get your Display to register successfully, you can perform a Factory Reset by pressing and holding down the “SET” and “ALM” buttons together for six seconds.
The Display will beep twice and read “PUSH GATEWAY BUTTON”. Start the registration process again.
“If you see the following message on your Wireless Display, ‘UPDATING UNREGISTERED DEVICE' and 'PRESS SNOOZE KEY TO START FACTORY REGISTRATION',
Please Push the “SNOOZE” key on your Wireless Display to proceed.”
Outdoor Sensor Setup
If your Outdoor Sensor is not able to send temperature data to your Wireless Display, try reducing the distance between the Outdoor Sensor and the Wireless Display or place the Outdoor Sensor in a location that avoids obstacles such as walls and sources of radio interference between the Wireless Display and the Outdoor Sensor. |
